Inside Orchard House Pre-school

We have a quiet room which is our carpeted area used for book corner, sensory corner and where the staff can work closely with their children on a more one-to-one basis. Our main room consists of home corner, a variety of table-top crafts and activities, messy area, sand play, music corner and many different types of construction resources. We also are very lucky in that we have a very well equipped outdoor play area, including a mud kitchen, which is safe and secure for the children to play in the fresh air.

When can my child go to Orchard House Pre-school?

Orchard House accepts children from 2 years. We also accept Nursery Education Funding for children the term after their 2nd and 3rd birthday (including 30 hours funding). We work to a planned curriculum using Early Years Foundation Stage Principles (EYFS) which sets the standards for the Learning Development and Care for children from birth to five years. As members of the Preschool Learning Alliance and Young in Herts, we benefit from up-to-date information, advice and training programs using their expertise and experience in working with pre-school children.

How much does it cost?

Fees are £18.00 per session. If you have more than one child attending the pre-school there is a reduction of 10%. Full fees are payable if your child is absent due to illness or holidays.  If you wish you wish to remove your child from pre-school we would like half a term’s notice if possible.

Lunch Club is £4.50 per session.
